Average, open, evergreen shrub, valued for rich green foliage and large, single, white scented flowers with a pink flush, rather like the wild Dog rose, in Autumn. Prefers sheltered site with warmth and light, and well drained neutral/acid soil.
Hardy in a sheltered site in most UK, Coastal France and northern Italy and Pacific Northwest gardens, but may be damaged in severest winters. Often early into flower and growth.
