Kurume

The Kurume Azalea is a brand name of the Kirishima azalea ( Rhododendron Obtusum Group) and is called for the cultivars bred in Kurume City. Kurume azaleas are said to have originated in about 1840.There are a mix of parental species R. kiusianum , R. kaempferi and R. sataense.
